At the northern end of Mullaloo the calcarenite bluffs and reefs have isolated a 150 m long section of high tide beach (WA 864) bordered and fronted by a mixture of intertidal platforms and reefs, with a central 50 m long open section. Seagrass is at time piled up on the beach in lee of the reefs. Waves break over the reefs and during higher waves a rip flows out the central section.
