Beaches K 243 and 244 are located on the western side of Nares Point, 2.5 km further east. Beach K 243 lies toward the base of the point. It is a 200 m long west-facing high tide beach backed by slopes which rise steeply to 150 m. It has 500 m wide muddy sand flats, then another 500 m of reef flats.
