Balnarring is a small beach settlement located at the end of Balnarring Road. The road ends at the main Balnarring Beach (also called Tulum Beach), which has a foreshore reserve with picnic facilities. There is a small jetty crossing the beach, with boats moored offshore. Another reserve and picnic area are located behind the western beach. The main beach is 2.5 km long and faces south, curving around at its western end to the south-east. It extends from the mouth of Merricks Creek, which runs along behind much of the beach, to sandy Balnarring Point, which is fronted by reef flats that separate the two beaches. The west beach is 1.3 km long and curves around to face the east by Palmer Bluff, its southern boundary. Both beaches receive low wind waves and are relatively narrow, with a moderately steep beach face and deep water off the beach at high tide. At low tide however, the sand and reef flats are exposed.
Beach Length: 2.5km
General Hazard Rating: 3/10
