Freshwater Beach (NSW 77) extends southwest from the foreland in lee of the Rocks for 2.7 km, all the way fronted by reef of variable depth together with some rocks on the beach. The rocks and reefs lower the waves and combine with the coarse sand and cobbles to maintain a steep reflective to low tide terrace beach, however rips can occur against the several reefs and rocks that line the beach.
